“I didn’t want to do green simply because it’s a holiday color,” says Ala. “Rather, I love having black and white in the collection, and since holiday is a more formal time of year, this color combination always feels dressier to me.”
Behind the Collection: AvA Holiday
The AvA Holiday 2022 Collection isn’t a traditionally festive assortment, but instead Ala created a chic, effortless lineup of black and white styles that look as appropriate at home with friends as they do out on the town.
With a series of new silhouettes, many of them in organza and with a decidedly 70’s vibe, the Holiday collection is equal parts formal yet relaxed, tailored yet effortless. In continuing with Fall’s vision of reversible versatility, each Holiday look is featured in a reversible Zampa Bianca or Zampa Nera print with white on black or black on white, featuring oversized monstera leaves.
There’s the Mariah Silk Shell Tank Top and matching wide leg Fernanda Silk Pant. The Giana Cotton Blouse in Zampa Bianca is a festive piece complete with organza detailing around the neck and cuffs. An entire organza assortment adds a special flair to the collection, such as the Sienna Silk Organza Duster, the Francesca Silk Organza Blazer and the Lucia Silk Organza Bolero. Each piece pairs well as a set or on its own.
“This is my vision of casual entertaining at home but dressier,” says Ala. “Again, it’s the versatility of being able to reverse a print. It encompassees the formal and less formal. You can keep it fun by using one piece with a solid, or take it all the way and layer everything together.”
