Summer is here, and that means it’s time to open our little shop at 22 Bellevue Avenue—right across from the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island. Like Mighty Mouse, the space is tiny but mighty—full of bold color, fresh styles, and new pieces just waiting to be tried on.

This season’s collection is one of my favorites yet, with breezy silhouettes and vibrant prints that feel just right for summer in Newport. I’ve also loved styling our new jewelry line, designed by my daughter, Sunny—each piece adds such a fun, personal touch to any outfit. We are thrilled that Kim Palmer is joining us again with her wonderful jewelry both vintage and those she makes herself. It is hard to walk out without one. I love that she makes pieces that work especially well with our clothes!

Our shop is tucked inside Frank Antonio Hair and Makeup, thanks to our wonderful landlord Frank Barbosa—who keeps the whole place full of life and laughter. There’s even a connecting door, so his clients can pop over and shop. Frank is a true artist. Cuts, color, styling, updos—he does it all. You may have even seen his work on Sex and the City, or more recently on HBO’s The Gilded Age. Those hairstyles? All Frank. Angelina Hewett has her own cozy studio offering the most meticulous manicures, pedicures, and facials. I always say I feel like I’m walking on a cloud after seeing her. She’s just that good.
