The Preservation Society’s Newport Flower Show has come and gone—and what a show it was. Held at beautiful Rosecliff here in Newport, Rhode Island, it’s always a highlight of the summer season, and this year was no exception.

Designer Mark D. Sikes was the featured speaker, and he was such a joy to listen to. He has a new book out and spoke about his recent restoration work at Blair House in Washington, D.C. His presentation was inspiring—his sense of color and layering made me want to go home and start repainting!

The floral displays by the exhibitors were beautiful, clever, and unexpected. I always love seeing the creativity that goes into each arrangement. The vendors were just as impressive—everything from jewelry and stationery to antiques, garden pieces, and summer-ready fashion.

Our Ala von Auersperg booth became a bit of a meeting spot this year. Friends, neighbors, and family stopped by to say hello, try things on, and catch up.
