Ala's Fall Picks

As the seasons begin to shift, I find myself standing in front of my closet wondering what to wear. I want something that feels like fall but with the temperatures still ever rising I need pieces that are lightweight. I know I’m not alone in this I think quandary which is why I’m sharing the AvA essentials I turn to during these seasonal transition days. Days are hot but nights are cooler up north.

Cotton Blouses

I wear our cotton blouses all year long. The style is versatile, flattering, and seems to go with everything. My favorite cotton prints for this time of year are Regalia and White Fantasia. They just go anywhere and blend into the fall colorways effortlessly. You’ll find me wearing my blouses over a pair of pants or under a jacket.

the Ala Silk Blouses

A huge perk of our silk blouses are they are so easy to wear. Life has gotten a little quieter around us and because of that I find myself looking for a causal yet elevated look far more often. Plus the roomy fit makes them comfortable and flattering. I find the Ala Blouse to be the perfect look for a dinner out with friends.

Kate Silk Blouse

The Kate Silk Blouse is a favorite for so many of my friends. It is a little fancier that the Ala Blouse and it gives every body shape this absolute wow factor. I suggest taking a peek at the blouse in our Angel's Trumpet print–one of our loveliest prints. You can also search for the style by looking up Kate.

Best Fall Pants

The Gabriele Pants are a match made in heaven for any of our blouses. Made of an Italian stretch cotton in solid colors they are wildly comfortable and extremely versatile. I love the Khaki and the Black as we head out of summer. Although I have never adhered to the no white after Labor Day rule. (I like what looks good and do not worry about the rest. Sometimes rules are just there to be broken!)

Structured and Lightweight Jackets

I often wear the Gabriele Pants in Khaki with the Keaton Blouse or Rhea Jacket paired with a belt. I wear them as shirts or with a blouse underneath if I want to look a little more polished. The Millie Peplum Top adds sophistication to this layered Khaki look and I find it to be my absolute go-to travel look. I can get off the plane without looking like a wrinkled mess.

Kathe Dresses

Our perennial favorite–wear these as dresses or as a duster over your favorite pants. My favorite prints for this season are the Regalia, White Fantasia and Narragansett in silk but you certainly can’t go wrong with any of our prints.

It’s a little warmer down south but you want to get away from the flowers in print.

The ultimate transition pieces, I love the Horn Print as a great way to wear the lightness of mesh but still stay cool enough. The Serena Sheer Duster is great over solid pants either worn open or tied in front. A great informal look that still keeps you looking effortless and polished.

The Joni Sheer Sweater, made of double mesh, is a nod to sweater dressing without the weight. The mesh still lets the air come through while the double layer keeps you covered–literally. I love to wear this look as a day to night look. All day at the office and then to dinner and drinks with my husband.

If you already have some of these hanging in your closet, it’s time to bring them up for air. If not, bring your closet into fall with these effortless, sophisticated transition staples. These timeless, versatile go-tos will keep you looking fabulous through fall and beyond.
