April — Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April is a month dedicated to raising awareness about sexual violence and increasing the public’s understanding about sexual violence in our society. This week in particular we are honoring National Crime Victims' Rights Week (April 2nd - April 8th) and proud to be supporting this cause by donating 50% of the proceeds of the Anna Pink Roses Poncho to the National Center for Victims of Crime. Shop the limited edition poncho below and read the Huffington's Post feature interviewing Ala and the significance her family's 30-year commitment to an organization that has become a cornerstone in securing rights, resources and protection for victims of crime in America.
About Ala and the National Center for Crime Victims
Empowering women, making them feel beautiful is a counterpoint to the many things violence against women takes away from them. We have pledged to take a part of the proceeds from the sale of these garments to support programs that fight crimes against women.
For 30 years, the National Center for Victims of Crime has been one of the leading voices on violence against women. The National Center commissioned the groundbreaking Rape in America, one of the first reports of its type in scope and rigor. We continue our critical work to bring justice to women including our current focus on campus sexual assault, untested rape kits, stalking and its intersectionality with intimate partner violence, domestic violence, dating violence and sexual assault. Through extensive training and technical assistance bolstered by comprehensive webinar trainings, expanded and innovative partnerships and outreach to non-traditional organizations we are providing important tools, resources and information to the field and beyond to improve victim safety.
